Subsidies and funding programmes

Funding

Part of what you buy from us can be subsidised. This page tells you which programmes come into question, what they actually cover, and where they do not apply.

For Done-for-You

German research allowance (Forschungszulage)

Where a company commissions a research and development project, section 3 (4) of the Research Allowance Act counts 70 percent of the fee paid as an eligible expense. The rate is 25 percent, or 35 percent for small and medium-sized enterprises. CovaSyn meets the requirement of section 2 (5) because its management is based in the EU.

  • The client applies, not CovaSyn. The contractor does not need a certificate of its own.
  • Routine collection of measurement and analytical data is excluded. It has to be genuine development work.
  • Software licences and training courses are not covered.

For licences, rollout and training

FRL Digi-Z Saxony

The only programme we know of that covers software, rollout support and training in a single application. The rate is 35 to 60 percent depending on company size, with eligible spending of up to 100,000 euros. Software as a service is named explicitly in the guideline, provided the term is at least 24 months.

  • A regional application freeze has applied since 17 July 2026. Applications are only possible from the city of Leipzig, the district of Leipzig and Nordsachsen.
  • The application must be filed before the work is commissioned. A later application is excluded.
  • No accreditation or listing of the provider is required.

For workshops

ESF+ Bavaria, funding action 1.3

Companies with a place of work in Bavaria can have 50 percent of the cost of external training providers reimbursed. The programme sets no limit on company size and requires no accreditation, no AZAV certification and no listing from the provider.

  • It requires at least 20 teaching units of 45 minutes and at least five participants. Our two-day formats are built for this.
  • The company applies, at least two months before the start.
  • What is funded is method competence, not training on a particular product. Our workshops therefore separate the method part from the tool part.

What is currently unavailable

These are the programmes people ask about most, and all of them are closed:

  • Saxony's further training voucher: suspended, no funds in the 2025/2026 double budget.
  • Saxony's subsidy for advisory services (FRL Beratungsförderung): blocked because of the budget situation.
  • ZIM: applications suspended since 7 July 2026.
  • go-digital: ended on 31 December 2024, with no successor.
  • Funding under section 82 SGB III: requires more than 120 hours and AZAV accreditation. Our formats meet neither.

What we do and what we do not

We supply the documents an application needs: a quotation stating duration in teaching units, headcount, a description of the content, the separation of method and tool parts, and qualified certificates of attendance. We do not file applications for you and we do not promise approval. Whether your project is eligible is decided solely by the competent authority.

We get specific in an initial call: tell us where your company is based and what the project is, and we will tell you which of the three programmes comes into question at all.

As of 20. September 2026. Funding programmes change at short notice; on 17 July 2026 alone, two Saxon programmes were halted. This reflects the position researched on that date and is not a substitute for tax or legal advice. The relevant guideline and the decision of the awarding body take precedence.
