CovaSyn as an app on your device

CovaSyn runs in the browser. In two steps it sits on your home screen or in your Dock as its own icon and opens in its own window like any other app. No app store, nothing for your IT to install.

iPhone and iPad

Works with Safari, Chrome or Edge.

  1. Open workspace.covasyn.com and sign in.
  2. Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up). In Chrome and Edge it sits at the top right of the address bar.
  3. Choose "Add to Home Screen". If you do not see it, scroll down the list.
  4. Leave "Open as Web App" switched on if the toggle appears, then tap "Add".

Android phone and tablet

Works with Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet.

  1. Open workspace.covasyn.com and sign in.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots) at the top right.
  3. Choose "Add to Home screen", then "Install". In Samsung Internet the entry is "Add page to", then "Home screen".
  4. CovaSyn appears as an icon on your home screen and in the app drawer.

Mac

Works with Safari, Chrome or Edge.

  1. Open workspace.covasyn.com and sign in.
  2. Safari (macOS Sonoma or later): "File" menu, then "Add to Dock".
  3. Chrome: the "Install" icon on the right of the address bar. Or menu (three dots), "Cast, save and share", then "Install page as app".
  4. Edge: menu (three dots), "Apps", then "Install this site as an app".

Windows

Works with Edge or Chrome.

  1. Open workspace.covasyn.com and sign in.
  2. Edge: menu (three dots), "Apps", then "Install this site as an app".
  3. Chrome: the "Install" icon on the right of the address bar. Or menu (three dots), "Cast, save and share", then "Install page as app".
  4. CovaSyn then appears in the Start menu. Right-click it to pin it to the taskbar.

Chromebook

Works with Chrome.

  1. Open workspace.covasyn.com and sign in.
  2. Click the "Install" icon on the right of the address bar, or in the menu (three dots) choose "Cast, save and share", then "Install page as app".
  3. CovaSyn appears in the launcher and can be pinned to the shelf.

Good to know

  • You stay signed in. New features arrive straight away; there is no app store update.
  • Drawing structures works best with a mouse or stylus, on a computer or tablet. On a phone the app is mainly for looking up results.
  • Firefox does not currently create a separate app from a website. Use Safari, Chrome or Edge for this.
  • Menu labels may differ slightly depending on the version.
  • Remove it like any other app: press and hold the icon and delete it, or uninstall it under "Manage apps" in Chrome and Edge.
